Opposite Sides of the Glass

So rather than reblog the entire post, I am just going to quote the bit I have a question about.

Abel was motivated out of humility to offer the best of what God had given him, but Cain offered the best of what he had grown out of pride.

Cain was proud of his work. He offered his best, the things he was most proud of, rather than selfishly keeping it to himself. God gave him the ability to grow these things, and so he gave it back to God.

What is so wrong about giving the things you’re proud of back to God?
